That quote is typically attributed to Benjamin Franklin. (Even though we can’t find it any actual documents, speeches or writing.)  But regardless of traceability, we at Xcential know the quote is meaningful.

Xcential is changing, therefore Xcential.com had to change as well.

Building upon over two decades of experience developing robust XML solutions, the Graphite XML Platform is a natural evolution for Xcential, addressing the growing need for a modern and adaptable platform. We are proud to have a robust XML platform that can be used by IT departments and partners to build sturdy systems for structured content. It includes authoring, editing, publishing, printing, integration, and extendability.

For many years, Xcential has built and implemented XML solutions for parliaments, legislatures, and regulatory bodies. We realized that the LegisPro system is a full XML platform but solely focused on legislation and regulation. The demands of government systems required us to build enterprise-level solutions that are practical and future-proof.

Graphite XML Platform is the result of 20+ years of development and deployment. Leveraging our extensive experience in demanding government environments, we've built Graphite to be a competitive XML platform, offering a modern, web-first approach that we believe sets it apart. Today we have the most modern platform to build a bespoke XML solution upon.

Does the industry need another XML platform?

YES!  Most XML editors and associated platforms are old and aging by the day. Entrenched business models and rigid architectures make it difficult for those companies to adapt. 

Additionally, the rise of artificial intelligence applications has renewed the interest in structured information. Experiments with AI (including our own) have resulted in an understanding that AI works better when it has structured information. The structure of information is part of the meaning. XML is not getting sidelined, instead there is a new and growing need for precise, structured information which AI can help us create value with.

If you require a robust, web-first XML editor for S1000D, then Graphite is a great choice. Graphite does not support every advanced feature of S1000D, but it can. DITA, Shipdex, WebDoc and more can be added. Alongside the exciting launch of Graphite, our established LegisPro solution has also seen significant updates. Xcential still offers the best solution on the globe for legislative and regulatory drafting, publishing, and printing. LegisPro offers precise document automation and traceability.

Xcential is focused on partnerships; and our new site combines Services and Partners. As a partner, we work with regional partners to implement LegisPro while adding services through the partner connected to a specific parliament. 

LegisPro Collaborate is a version of LegisPro for individuals. This is a major change for Xcential. In the past we only worked with governments, but today can support those who submit legislation and regulation to governments.

Xcential remains dedicated to open standards like LegalDocML, we remain committed to thought-leadership in this space, and we remain committed to working for governments to plan and build modern systems.
